About You

Do you enjoy working with children? Do you like water? If the answer is YES, being a swimming instructor might be the job for you. We are looking for YOU who has an interest in and experience working with children and who is eager for a fun summer job. If you have previously worked in swimming schools, that is a big plus. You should be responsible, positive, and engaged to ensure that children develop in the best way and have a great time in the water.

The goal of the summer swimming school is to get children accustomed to water and then teach as many as possible to swim. About the Association and Swimming School Activities

Växjö Simsällskap is one of Växjö's largest sports clubs. The association conducts many different activities, with the swimming school being the largest section. The association operates according to the guidelines of the Swedish Swimming Federation known as the Swimming Line. Within the swimming school, there are groups focusing on teaching good water safety as well as groups where swimming techniques in the four swimming styles are practiced. The goal is to teach children safety in and around water, as well as to meet the requirements for swimming proficiency (swimming 200 meters, of which 50 meters on the back).

Training

All who work as leaders in the summer swimming school must be trained. It is therefore mandatory to participate in the following training sessions (all meetings) to be able to work (if you have previously completed the Basic Training for Coaches or the Swimming Sports Leader Training, participation in these trainings is not mandatory).

Basic Coach Training: The training is conducted by RF SISU and covers the basics of leadership in sports. The training consists of one evening and one full day, as well as self-study.

Swimming Sports Leader Training: The training is conducted by Swedish Swimming Sports and covers, among other things, the ABC of swimming, the four swimming styles, children's game rules, and planning. The training consists of one evening and two full days, as well as self-study.

Introduction Training: We will meet all leaders who will work in the summer swimming school on 7/6 (full day, mandatory for everyone).

All training sessions are organized in Växjö or the surrounding area and are free of charge for participants.
